Super Mom

I am totally feeling like Super Mom today. Last night I made baby food. Nutritious food for little Sweet Pea! I am just so proud of myself, that I just want to blurt it out to everyone I come in contact with that I...made...baby food...last night!

Sister says that it will not last, that someone who can not even feed herself will not succeed in baby food making, once the thrill wears off. That I will be buying the little jars sooner than later.

We will see sweet sister if you are right, but at this very moment I am revelling in my own success.

Merry Merry

Sweet Pea had her first Christmas and it was wonderful. She had so much fun with the wrapping paper and unwrapped at least 4 of her gifts (I had to do the rest for her) She got a baby doll from her Dad and he was so happy when she chewed on the leg. She must like it! She got her tote bag full of books and also a ball. Then all the stuff from the aunts, uncles, cousins and grandmas. You can't imagine all the stuff under our tree!

I have to work the rest of the week and am longing for the days when I was on Christmas vacation. Honey Bun is keeping Sweet Pea and the daycare lady is getting a break. I will go home at lunch and check on them and see how Dad is doing. This is the trial run for summer and we will see if he wants to keep her all summer or if she will go to day care.

distructo !!!

We are finally getting the kitchen I deserve. It is halfway done and I just now thought to take a few pictures. (Maybe tonight I will do that, but you know how horrible I am at remembering to take pictures) We found the water leak that was causing concern and got that taken care of and also got rid of all the old yucky cabinets. Which was such a relief...because what am I going to do with them? Now I just have to pick out paint and get it all spruced up.

Not to mention putting all the stuff back--who wants to help me with that?

Christmas letter 2007

Holiday greetings from our house to yours! I hope you are someplace warm and snug this holiday season.

What a difference a year makes! Our world changed in the blink of an eye on July 18, 2007. Sweet Pea is the light of our life. Sounds corny but very true. She is a beautiful baby, growing and changing everyday. She got her first tooth last week and now we wait on the other three. We have the perfect day care situation with the neighbor across the street keeping her and they have 5 other kids of various ages to tend to, but often she is the only one there. We got a jog stroller to take to softball games so Sweet Pea and I will be in the stands to cheer Honey Bun to a victory. He is returning a large sophomore class and we have hopes of them finishing even better than last year. My job is going well. I am still traveling around to libraries in the region and working on CE for children's librarians. As homeowners we are updating the house and always seem to have a project going on, right now it is the kitchen but I have been formulating plans to do the bedroom next.

Sounds like we are busy folks and I am sure that you are too. Drop us an email and let us know how it is all going!

Little brother finally graduated.
And we all made the trip to Manhattan to witness the event. Aren't we a good looking bunch?!

the pearly white

Hooray!! the tooth is here. Sweet freedom--we get a short break from all the whining and crying. And we all got some sleep last night. I know the other 3 teeth are coming, but I am going to enjoy this time-out. Can't believe my baby girl has a tooth! She is getting so big.

AHH...teeth....

We are waiting on teeth to push through. And it is a long long wait. Doctor said the teeth should be here any day now. We are talking about at least 3 and maybe all 4 of them at once. It is horrible for us and I can't imagine how Sweet Pea is enduring the pain. She was whiney all weekend and most of the time I tried to keep her medicated withTylenol. I need to take some cute photos of her, because I know when the teeth come in, her looks will change.
