couple photos

Here are a couple cute shots for you. Sweet Pea is getting big!

Bill is being so patient with her. He hasn't scratched her yet.

And she has a wonderful grin.

She has her own bar-be-que grill and this is how we spend most of our evenings. Now I have too cookers in the family. How can one girl be so lucky?

Hooter's girl...I am not

Last night after the child was asleep, which is going so much better, but I have decided it depends on the day and her mood and her activity and her diet. So I am trying to stop obsessing about the sleeping. SO...Honey Bun has this sweet set-up in the garage, he has a TV out there and the beer fridge close by, He has the lawn chairs all set up and the cooler as a foot rest...it is a man's den out there. I stepped out to casually see what he was doing out there and he has his eyeballs glued to the screen. Turns out he is watching the Hooter's girls beauty pageant. His eyes were actually glazed over! When he finally clued in and realized I knew what he was watching, he was embarrassed about being caught watching. Kinda cracked me up! So I razzed him about that and then went back to the family room to watch the rest of the Bachelorette. Both of us were watching quality TV last night!

His only comment when the pageant was over was that he thought they all might have had "fake" boobs...well Duh! was all I said to that. I think that fact might have actually ruined the whole thing for him. Which kinda makes me feel better, but I wish you could have seen his face when he was caught...made me laugh out loud.

By the way--I am totally into the Bachelorette this time, again. I just hope I remember when it is on so I can watch next week. I am going for Jason, Graham, the science geek and one more I can't remember his name.

Plan B

You guessed it. My trusty little humidifier plan, crashed. I just about broke my arm, patting myself on the back yesterday and fairly skipped into the child's room to turn on the machine last night when a horrific squeaking noise was all I got. And then the panic sets in. I was running all over the house searching for something that made noise. I drug the huge de-humidifier in from the garage-cleaned it all up and turned that on. BUT that puts out alot of heat and not 15 min later Sweet Pea had sweat pouring off of her. Turned that off and found a small radio and set it to static. Didn't work--crying child. So I filled up the trusty humidifier with water to check to see if I had done damage, still worked! I turned it on in her room. But then I was worried about too much moisture(I have bad allergies to mold, mildew and the like) So I set the de-humidifier outside of her room and turned that on. Thinking that might take out some of the moisture that I was putting into the air. Perfect, right?!

As you can also guess, Honey Bun was not at home last night--he is usually the voice of reason, and I was clearly a panicked mess running around the house looking for a machine with a motor. I even considered running the blender ALL NIGHT LONG, but eliminated that idea when I couldn't figure out something to blend for that amount of time.
So when he got home, he only asked one question "So what are we doing here?" And when I launched into my reasoning behind the madness I had set up, I know he was sorry he asked.

But what I had forgotten, up on the top shelf in the garage sits the air purifier(lacking a filter)

Gonna try that tonight!

Till it burns up

The on-going sleep problems are at a standstill this week. It is wonderful, but now I have that nervous mom reaction to the sleeping child. I check on her about 8 times a night. Because she is sleeping! Last night, she hit the sheets at 6:15(after falling asleep in the highchair) and slept thru the night. Only woke up twice and that was to eat(because she didn't really get dinner or a bottle before) I am running the humidifier with no water in the tank. And it is working. The motor is louder than I wish it was, but it is drowning out all the outside noise, cat noise, tv, phone, dishwasher, talking, walking...all the noise and she is sleeping. So when the poor thing burns up the motor I will have to figure something else out, but for now that baby is running.

p.s. Isn't that alot of punctuation for a simple paragraph?

new shoes

The girl has shoes!!!

I ordered shoes last week and they arrived on Friday night. Fit is perfect, which means I need to be ordering another couple pairs pretty soon, as these feet are growing fast. They are classic Keds and very cute on her feet. And she even took a few steps on her own this weekend.

Stop the presses, my baby walks!

I also got her some sandals and they are cute, cute, cute--fisherman style, so the toes are in but there is ventilation. BUT, I left them on her too long and today she has red spots on the backs of her ankles. You know how new shoes rub and new sandals rub worse, I left them on her feet a couple hours and that was maybe one hour too many. Is 9.5 months too young to learn that fashion causes pain?
