Preschool, here we come!

I know you don't care...or rather...you might be the only people that do care...but I think I have come to a decision about preschool. Going with the last one. I think it will be a good fit for us. The teacher said some things that I have been wanting to hear and no one else has said.
So that was relief, in itself! We will be going to Munchkinland preschool in 2 weeks.

We need to get a few school supplies and we already have the backpack...

school bus

Today was the first day of school in our town. We watched the bus come in to the neighborhood and pick up the kids and we waved when the bus left.
It brought tears to my eyes...not sure why?

Because another school year starts without me?
OR
Because Sweet Pea will be riding that bus in 2 years?

Maybe a little of both...time marches on

need a reason to have a cake?

Yesterday was Dora the Explorer's birthday. There was a big splash all over the TV about the special and her party. Which we were supposed to watch...more on that later. Sweet Pea asked me if Dora was going to have a cake. I said she could have one at our house...and we started baking. Sweet Pea decorated it...she assured me that Dora likes lots of sprinkles.

We had the party at lunch, because we couldn't wait any longer...She said WAIT...and ran to her room and you could tell she was digging around. She can running back with a stuffed Dora doll and we sang to her and Sweet Pea blew out the candles. It was so fun.

While we were doing the mixing, Sweet Pea looked right at me and said...
"Isn't this exciting?"
And You know, it was! My child is getting so grown up, and it is so exciting.

the search continues

The preschool search continues. I might possibly be the only person in this small town that has seen and talked to as many preschool teachers as I have. And I haven't found one I am thrilled with yet. We have one more to talk with...and she will either pass muster...or we won't be going to preschool with all the other girls.

There are 5 girls in day care. 2 will be going to Kindergarten and 3 are the same age(sweet pea is one of them) the other 2 our age are going to morning preschool and right now we have only been able to score afternoon preschool options. And I have found the options that the other mothers selected lacking for my child. I really really wanted them to work...but I have left all my preschool tours (in tears) and feeling that it wasn't the best place for my Sweet Pea.
